Battery Dead After Sitting On Pad for Weeks

So last night I suddenly had a lot of snow fall, I wake up and tried to connect to the plow on the pad. No connection. The battery was dead. Why does the unit not try to charge the battery of it drops? Why does it not notify me via the app that the battery is low? This is the 2 of 2 times where when I need it to plow in the morning, it's dead. The robot is useless like this.
