Ideas after first snowstorm
Just got my first snowfall after setting up yarbo. Plan was pretty simple- mostly straight 110 foot 2 car wide driveway with two cars parked back to back on one side. Originally hoped to run yarbo once in the morning, move cars to cleared side, run yarbo again. That plan never occurred. Yarbo never finished a complete run. It hit my car 3 times (twice after fixing the no go zones), my house once, drove outside the map, lost rtk, required two hard restarts, and is now charging without completing its latest run.
Some features i hope to see in the future:
1) being able to edit the map. Would be great if we could overlay a satellite photo to help fix issues/get landmarks. Would also be great to be able to fix crooked perimeters or wonky corners without having to redraw the whole perimiter. Also fixing those crooked spots to make the section more square/straight would also make the snow plow plan more efficient.
2) real time editing of zones- my roborock allows me to split a map into rooms/zones and i can then plan what sections get more attention. The space behind my cars got plowed 4 times. The driveway between the cars and the street- still not done.
3) better traction on the base- yarbo slipped and slid off the base repeatedly.
4) better blowing. Yarbo starts blowing the row next to where the snow should be sent and then moves out blowing the snow row by row blowing the snow on previously plowed. Having a simple reverse function would be a super useful feature.
