[2023] Charging Instructions for Yarbo Device
Charging Yarbo with the Wired Charger
- Before charging Yarbo, check the voltage switch on the wired charger and set it to your home's AC voltage.
- Connect the wired charger to an electrical outlet and the charging port under the rear cover of Yarbo.
There are a few things to keep in mind when using a wired charger to charge Yarbo.
- Check the cable and connectors: Inspect the charging cable for any signs of damage or fraying. A damaged cable should be replaced to ensure safe and efficient charging. Also, please ensure that the connectors are clean and free from debris or dirt, as this can affect the charging process.
- Connect securely: When connecting the charger to Yarbo, please ensure a secure and snug connection. A loose connection may result in slow or interrupted charging. Double-check that the charger is firmly plugged into both Yarbo and the power source.
- Ensure compatibility: Please ensure that the wired charger you are using is compatible with Yarbo. Check the charger's specifications and ensure it provides the appropriate voltage and current for charging Yarbo.
Charging Yarbo with the Docking Station
Yarbo offers two distinct charging modes: you can choose to either free your hands by set it up for automatic recharge or enjoy the joyful drive experience by manually guiding it back to the docking station.
Autonomous Recharge
Before enabling autonomous recharge, ensure the following prerequisites are met:
- Establish the location of the docking station and generate the working area map.
- Confirm Yarbo is positioned within the mapped area.
Yarbo offers 2 methods to trigger autonomous recharge during workplans:
Method 1: Set up a recharge value for the battery within the Work Preference page from the Yaro Settings. Yarbo will automatically navigate back to the docking station once the battery level falls below the designated threshold during the workplan.
Method 2: Select the Recharge button on any of the following pages. Please be aware that this action will automatically pause the ongoing workplan.Manual Recharge with Virtual Controller
- Hit the Controller button.
- Stop the current work plan.
- Use the virtual controller to navigate your Yarbo back to the docking station.
- Make sure to click on the Charge button when Yarbo is all set to be charged. If Yarbo remains in standby at the docking station without user intervention for 5 minutes, it will automatically initiate the charging process.
Manual Recharge with Physical Controller
- Drive Yarbo onto the docking station, ensuring the Snow Blower Module faces outward (requires backward movement).
- Upon Yarbo detecting it's centrally positioned on the docking station, automatic charging will commence without user intervention for 5 minutes.
- Check the physical controller's LED indicator. If it shows a solid red light (indicating a battery level below 20%), charge the physical controller.
The battery and remote controller feature LEDs that blink sequentially to indicate the current battery level during charging. A fully charged battery is indicated when all battery-level LEDs are turned off.
Charging Yarbo with Wired Charger
- 0 to 100% State of Charge (SOC): Approximately 5 hours
- 30% to 80% SOC: Approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes
Charging Yarbo with the Docking Station
- 0 to 100% SOC: Approximately 3 hours
- 30% to 80% SOC: Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes
Charging Process in Different Conditions
- Low Temperature: If the battery's cells are below 5°C, Yarbo prioritizes heating the cells first. Once the temperature reaches 5°C, the charging process will be reflected in the app. This means if the battery has been in a cold environment for an extended period, you might not see immediate movement in the charging meter.
- Normal Conditions: Under standard conditions, the battery charges at a rate of 600W. This ensures a steady and quick charging process.
- Above 90% Charge: To maintain battery health, the charging speed reduces as it exceeds 90%. This gradual slowdown protects the battery's longevity.
Specification
- Battery Type: Rechargeable Li-ion Battery
- Nominal Voltage: 36V
- Nominal Capacity: 38.4Ah
- Operation Temperature: -13°F to 113°F / -25°C to 60°C
Notice
- The battery pack's lifespan is influenced by operation frequency and total working hours. If the operating time of Yarbo is significantly reduced after each full charge, it may indicate that the battery pack need to be replace. Therefore, to minimize the degradation of the battery pack, it is advised not to leave the battery pack inactive for more than three months.
Warning
- Do not short circuit positive and negative terminals of the battery.
- Do not dismantle the battery.
- Keep the battery away from high temperatures, such as heat, sunshine, or proximity to fire.
- Do not expose the battery to fluids, including water, acid, alkaline substances, or saltwater.
- Do not simultaneously use wired and wireless chargers.
- For long-term storage, keep the battery in a cool and dry environment, and charge the battery for 2 hours every 3 months during storage.
- Inspect and clear any obstructions from the wire charging port.
- Always use a licensed charger designed for lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries.
- Avoid overcharging your device for preventing overheating, and unplug it once it is fully charged.
- Ensure correct installation of the battery, and do not reverse the polarity.
- This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the condition that this device does not cause harmful interference.
