How to Connect Yarbo Physical Controller

  1. Ensure that Yarbo is powered on. Please make sure that the green light on the Yarbo is solid on, indicating that Yarbo is powered on and ready for the controller setup.


  1. Press and hold the Yarbo Logo button to connect the physical controller. Please make sure the yellow light starts flashing, indicating that the pairing is ready to begin.


  1. Wait for 3 to 5 seconds until the light becomes solid yellow and the controller vibrates.


  1. Press and hold the SELECT button for 3 seconds to start operating Yarbo. Once Yarbo is activated, you can control its movements and start clearing the snow using the controller.


How to Control Yarbo with the Buttons

  1. Turn On the Controller

  • Power On the Controller: Press and hold the button for 2 seconds.
  • Color-Coding for Yarbo Status (Yarbo Logo Button):
    • Solid Red Light: Indicates Low Battery (<20%).
    • Flashing Yellow Light: Indicates Not Connected or currently in the process of connecting to Yarbo.
    • Solid Yellow Light: Indicates a successful connection to Yarbo.

  1. Switch the Control from Manual to Autonomous

  • Press and hold the SELECT button for 3 seconds until the controller vibrates.
    Note: You can take control of Yarbo with the controller only after feeling the vibration.

  1. Adjust the Driving Direction and the Speed of Yarbo 

  • To Adjust the Driving Direction: Press and hold the Right Bumper (RB) button. Then, push the left joystick, or right stick to drive Yarbo. 
  • To Adjust the Speed:  Press and hold the Right Bumper (RB) button. Then, press the Left Joystick or Right Joystick vertically down to adjust the moving speed of Yarbo.

  1. Adjust the Angle of the Deflector

  • To Adjust the Direction: Press the right arrow or left arrow on the Directional Pad (D-pad) to rotate Yarbo 180 degrees clockwise or anticlockwise.
  • To Adjust the Distance:
    • Press the up or down arrow on the Directional Pad (D-pad) to raise or lower the deflector.
    • For precise adjustment, press the buttons multiple times for your desired angle. Alternatively, press and hold the buttons, stopping at your preferred angle.
  • Warning:
    • Always ensure the throwing direction is safe for auger operations before activating the auger.
    • NEVER direct discharge at people or in areas where people and pets may be present.

  1. Adjust the Height of the Snow Blower Module (Auger)

  • Pitch Up: 
    • Press and hold the Y button to smoothly elevate the Snow Blower module continuously. 
    • Release the button to stop at the current angle once the desired height is reached.
  • Pitch Down: 
    • Press and hold the A button to gradually lower the snowplow continuously. 
    • Release the button to halt at the current angle when the desired position is achieved.

  1. Turn On and Off the Lights

  • Front Lights: Press the B button to turn on and off the front lights (default setting is on).
  • All Lights: Press the X button to turn on or off all the lights, except for the warning light.

  1. Turn On and Off the Auger

  • Activation: Press down and hold the Left Trigger (LT) and Right Trigger (RT)  together to turn on the auger. 
  • Warning: 
    • Prioritize the safety of the surrounding environment before engaging the auger.
    • Ensure a minimum distance of 17 feet from Yarbo before activating the auger.
  • Noise Alert: Turning on the auger may produce considerable noise.


  1. Adjust the Auger Speed

  • Switch Speed Settings: Press the Left Trigger (LT) and Right Trigger (RT) buttons simultaneously to turn on the auger. Then, press down the Left Bumper (LB) to switch the auger speed from fast to slow.


  1. Exit Error Status

  • Error Status Overview: If any of the motors in Yarbo, such as the driving motor, impeller motor, linear actuator, or chute rotation motor, experience malfunction like overcurrent, toast, overvoltage, undervoltage, or MOS damage, and you attempt to press the corresponding button for control, the controller vibrates, indicating the presence of a malfunction.
  • Exit Error Status: Press the START Button to clear the overcurrent condition. The controller will vibrate upon successful resolution. 


  1. Turn Off the controller 

  • Turn Off the Controller: Press and hold the "SELECT + B" buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds.

Troubleshooting and FAQ

Vibration: The controller might vibrate in the following situations:
  1. When turning on the controller?
  • The controller vibrates shortly and the Y Logo Button shows a solid yellow light, indicating that the controller is connected to Yarbo.
  1. When trying to control Yarbo without switching it from autonomous to manual?
  • The controller vibrates shortly, indicating that Yarbo is working on a scheduled or auto plan, or Yarbo is still controlled by the App.
  • Please press and hold the SELECT button for 3 seconds to switch the controlling end. 
  1. When switching Yarbo from autonomous to manual?
  • The controller vibrates shortly, indicating that you are set to control Yarbo with the physical controller, and can not control it with the App.
  1. When a malfunction occurs?
  • If you press the buttons and find it fails, and the controller vibrates, there might be an abnormality occurring to any of the motors in Yarbo, such as the driving motor, impeller motor, linear actuator, or chute rotation motor, experience abnormalities like overcurrent, toast, overvoltage, undervoltage, or MOS damage. 
  • Press the START Button to exit error status. If the problem persists, contact us for support from the Support Center.
