How to prevent rust or corrosion from the mower's exterior and components?

It is noticeable that the mower module needs maintenance to prevent rust and corrosion on its exterior and components when it remains unused for more than three months.
  1. Detach the lawn mower from the universal body.
  2. Raise the lawn mower from the side and place the lawn mower on Module Vertical Stand, please refer to the following picture.
  3. Utilize a high-pressure water gun or water hose to clean the underside of the lawn mower. Do not spray the water into the universal body to prevent damage. Please avoid using solvents or large amount of liquid on plastic components, as commercial solvents can potentially harm the appearance and integrity of your Yarbo.
  4. Wipe off the water with a clean rag.
  5. Put the mower module in a clean, dry, ventilated room with moisture-proof and anticorrosive measures.

How to remove the rust from the mower's exterior and components?

  1. Spray the WD-40 penetrating oil on the rust and wait for around 3 minutes. (We recommend to use the WD-40 penetrating oil, but it can also be replaced by other rust remover.)
  2. Use nylon sourcing pad to wipe the softened rust out.
  3. Use a rag to wipe it again.
  4. Spray WD-40 to prevent rust and corrosion. It is noticeable to make sure to avoid the rain sensor while spraying. WD-40 can decrease conductivity between the probes, which may cause the rain sensor to fail.(We consider using WD-40, which is suitable for all parts of our machine. However, if you prefer, you can also use other suitable lubricating oils for moving parts like tracks. For stationary parts such as screws and nuts, consider using alternative anticorrosive oils.)

Warning

  • Always use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Wear protective gloves and goggles whenever performing maintenance tasks or when needed.
  • Ensure that Yarbo is switched OFF and disconnects the battery when performing the following maintenance tasks.
